Defined learning outcomes
Each placement states the competencies a participant will develop and how they will be assessed.
Work-Based Learning Programme
The Skill2Create Work-Based Learning Programme is a modernised apprenticeship system for today’s economy. Participants develop capability inside organisations doing real work — and leave with verified evidence of what they can do.
What it is — and is not
Work-based learning bridges the gap between knowing and doing. It is where capability is applied, tested, refined and proven.
| Skill2Create WBL is | It is not |

| Meaningful, productive work | Errands and observation |
| Named supervisor and mentor | Unsupervised placement |
| Disclosed compensation and terms | Unpaid labour presented as opportunity |

Host organisations commit to these standards before a placement is listed. Participants can report a breach at any time.
Each placement states the competencies a participant will develop and how they will be assessed.
Participants contribute to real organisational work — not filler tasks or observation.
A named supervisor is responsible for day-to-day guidance; a mentor supports development.
Responsibility increases as competence is demonstrated, with milestones along the way.
Regular, documented feedback and structured reflection — not a single end-of-term verdict.
Outputs, reviews and competency assessments are recorded in the Capability Passport.
Compensation, hours, location, IP and confidentiality terms disclosed before acceptance.
Safety, dignity, non-discrimination and a working grievance process — for every participant.
Every placement ends with a documented next step: employment, contract, venture, further learning or a new placement.

Assessment combines supervisor evaluation, project evidence, practical demonstration and self-reflection.
