Learning how to learn, self-direction and continuous upgrading in a changing economy.
About Skill2Create
Skill2Create is a global creation, capability-development and work-based learning ecosystem designed to help people turn knowledge, talent and ideas into demonstrated capability, meaningful work and sustainable opportunity.
Why it exists
Skill2Create responds to a changing world in which qualifications alone are no longer sufficient, traditional jobs cannot meet everyone’s aspirations, and artificial intelligence is transforming how value is created.
In this new reality, people need more than access to training. They need the ability to apply what they know, solve real problems, work effectively with others, use emerging technologies, create useful outcomes and continue adapting throughout their lives.
Skill2Create brings these elements together within one connected ecosystem. Participants discover their strengths, define meaningful goals and follow personalised pathways combining relevant learning, practical experience, mentorship, real projects, supervised work and capability assessment. Their progress is demonstrated through completed work, validated competencies and a portable Capability Passport — not simply through attendance or certificates.
What people are supported to do
Develop the knowledge, practical skills, judgement, confidence and professional behaviours required to perform, contribute and grow.
Apply capability to real needs by producing useful work, improving organisations, serving communities and solving meaningful problems.
Progress into employment, independent professional practice, freelancing, entrepreneurship, venture creation and other productive forms of work.
Use creativity, research, technology and artificial intelligence to develop products, services, systems and interventions that address real challenges.
Transform demonstrated capability and credible experience into new possibilities for personal advancement, organisational growth and shared prosperity.
A connected ecosystem
The ecosystem connects participants with enterprises, employers, educational institutions, professional bodies, mentors, innovators, communities and development partners.
These organisations help shape pathways, host work-based learning experiences, present real challenges, mentor emerging creators and open routes into employment, enterprise, professional practice, innovation and impact.
What Skill2Create is
It is an integrated pathway from potential to capability, from capability to creation, and from creation to opportunity. Its purpose is to prepare people not merely to compete for the work that already exists, but to become capable creators and responsible contributors who can shape the work, enterprises, solutions and opportunities of the future.
Build capability. Create value. Unlock opportunity.
Programme architecture
Skill2Create is organised so that every participant can progress from foundation to opportunity multiplication — with structure, support and evidence along the way.
Human capability foundations, digital and AI literacy, and a personal capability profile.
Seven pathways that focus capability on a chosen mode of value creation: work, enterprise, solutions, AI, innovation, impact and profession.
Work-based learning, challenges, studios and labs where participants produce real outputs under supervision.
Employment, contracts, enterprise launch, funding readiness and market entry — supported by partners and the opportunity marketplace.
Participants who grow, employ others, mentor, host and create opportunity for the next cohort.
Human capability model
Skills are specific; capabilities endure. Skill2Create develops both — and assesses them in practice, not only on paper.
Learning how to learn, self-direction and continuous upgrading in a changing economy.
Imagination, design and the ability to generate useful new ideas and outputs.
Identifying, analysing and resolving real problems in real contexts.
Digital fluency and AI literacy as a universal requirement, not a specialism.
Turning plans into delivered work: discipline, quality, reliability and follow-through.
Understanding value, customers, money, risk and how organisations actually operate.
Mobilising others, seeing opportunity and creating it for oneself and one’s community.
Capabilities are evidenced through supervised work, project outputs and competency assessments recorded in the Capability Passport.
Guiding principles
Participants are producers of value — of products, services, ventures, solutions and knowledge — not only consumers of training.
What matters is demonstrated capability. Certificates follow evidence; they do not replace it.
Work-based learning is structured, supervised, assessed and fair. It is never unpaid labour dressed as opportunity.
AI literacy is a universal requirement across all pathways — participants learn to orchestrate AI, not merely use it.
Employers, institutions, hubs, governments and communities co-own outcomes and share the value created.
Success is measured by how much opportunity participants go on to create for others.
Governance and deployment
Skill2Create is governed by the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), which sets standards, curriculum frameworks, quality assurance and the monitoring & evaluation framework. Deployment happens through multiple levels — global and national programmes, state-level platforms such as CIE Benue, and local centres and host organisations.
Results are measured by outcomes, not activity: placements completed, competencies verified, ventures launched, income generated, jobs created and opportunity multiplied.
