Opportunity should be accessible to everyone.

1. Our standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA across skill2create.org. Accessibility is reviewed as part of every design change, and the platform layer that follows this site will be built to the same standard.

2. What is in place

• Semantic structure: landmarks, a single H1 per page, ordered headings, lists and labelled forms.
• Keyboard access to all interactive elements — navigation menus, filters, tabs, the opportunity rail (arrow keys), the application drawer (focus is trapped and returned on close, Escape closes) and forms.
• Visible focus states and a "Skip to content" link.
• Text colour contrast that meets AA on both light and dark sections.
• Text that can be resized to 200% and layouts that reflow on small screens without horizontal scrolling.
• Meaningful alternative text for informative images; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
• Status messages (filter counts, form results) announced through live regions.
• No content that flashes, autoplays with sound or relies on colour alone.
• Multi-step application with clear step labels, inline validation messages and a draft that is saved automatically so progress is not lost.

3. Known limitations

• Some partner logos are rendered as images with the partner name as alternative text only; descriptive context is provided beside them.
• Documents supplied by host organisations (for example role briefs sent by email) may not yet be fully accessible. Ask us for an accessible version.
• The country selector is a native control; on some older screen readers the current selection may need to be read from the toolbar.

We are working through these and will update this statement as they are resolved.

4. Accessible placements

Accessibility does not stop at the website. Host organisations agree to consider reasonable adjustments for participants with disabilities, and you can tell us about access needs at any point in your application without it affecting how your capability is assessed. Where a role is described as on-site, ask us — many hosts can offer hybrid or adjusted arrangements.

5. Report a barrier or request support

If you encounter something you cannot use, or need information in another format, email access@skill2create.org or use the contact form. Please tell us the page, what you were trying to do and the assistive technology you use. We aim to respond within 5 working days and to fix barriers as a priority.
